Abstract

Purpose Acetyl esterase (AE) plays an important role in bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass. However, the expression of AE from wild type strains is at relatively low level. The study aims to construct an engineered Escherichia coli strain with enhanced enzymatic activity of AE by adopting the strategy of tandem repetitive promoters.
