Abstract

This paper presents a design & implementation of three pole three zero digital controller based on Digital Signal Controller for low voltage synchronous Buck Converter. The proposed control involves one voltage control loop. Analog Type-3 controller is designed for Buck Converter using standard frequency response techniques. Type-3 analog controller transforms to 3P3Z controller in discrete domain. Matlab/Simulink environment is used for controller design to generate a set of coefficients associated with the desired controller characteristics. These controller coefficients are then included in C-code that implements the controller in DSC. The code is ported into dsPIC and tested using a prototype converter available in the Buck/Boost PICtail plus daughter board. Simulation and experimental results are shown to validate the design.
