Abstract

The global demand for energy has increased the petroleum operations mutlifolds and the challenges associated with it. The loss circulation is often problematic and cost intensive. The Banana Peel Pectin (BPP) and Fly Ash (FA) provides an efficient control to loss circulation. The rheological properties viz, Plastic viscosity, gel strength suggest the increases in viscosity and gelation with increase in %BPP. The SEM analysis was performed to asses the meshing and bridging performance of BPP and FA. Theconsistencyof drilling fluid confirms its pumpability for a 4.5 h. The present work provides an efficient control of mud filtrate loss at extremely low cost.
