Abstract

Cathy Hair investigated factors affecting development of a mariculture livelihood based on the high-value sea cucumber, sandfish, in Papua New Guinea. She found that community-based mariculture was technically and economically feasible but that significant socio-economic challenges exist. This study underpins continuing efforts to assist remote coastal communities in Papua New Guinea.
