Abstract

Problem statement. Nowadays, the problem of free parking places in big cities has arisen drastically. The most problematic part of the city for car owners is the city centre with little space for parking and constantly growing car traffic. That is why the availability of parking lots and convenience of their choice are ones of the most important criteria for car usage for in-city trips. Goal . Considering that one of the biggest problems of big cities is parking, the aim of this project is investigation and solution of one of its aspects. Namely, minimizing the inconvenience for drivers of vehicles in the process of finding and placing a car in a parking lot by providing relevant information to parking owners. Methodology . During design stage IDEF0 function modelling methodology and Unified Modelling Language UML were used. Results . To solve the problem, an analysis of the state of the issue was carried out, as well as existing developments to solve this problem were analyzed. The results of the analysis highlighted the main advantages and disadvantages of existing applications. Based on the research results, the concept of the City Parking project was formulated, the roles and characteristics of users were determined, a context diagram, a tree of functions, user stories, scenarios of cases and a user interface layout were developed. Scientific novelty . Based on the research results, requirements to the information system that will operate in Kharkiv city were developed. Practical significance . The developed requirements are the first step in the design process of the application “City Parking”. Based on the requirements, a high-level system design, programming and testing of the system will be performed.
