Abstract

This paper described a kind of electroplated CBN wheel, which can be used for cold gas inner cooling. Experimental results showed that the structure of the CBN wheel can satisfy not only the need of cold gas inner cooling, but also reduce grinding temperature by 30~40% compared with conventional grinding. The influence of cold gas pressure on the grinding temperature was also experimentally analyzed. It is proved that inner cooling with cold gas instead of liquid in grinding process is an effective way to decrease grinding temperature and reduce environment pollution caused by letting off used grinding fluids.
