Abstract
Over 200 compositions based on TiAl were melted in order to examine the effect of third elements on castability. The amounts of additives were adjusted by examining the castability for various turbine components including shrouded blades/vanes. The composition which showed the best properties and casting performance was Ti-47.3(33.7)Al-0.7(1.0)V-1.5(2.3)Fe-0.7(0.2)B at.(wt.)%.
