Abstract

Electrochemical investigation of Levofloxacin (LVF) was carried through cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) techniques by using sensitive Azure-B modified pencil graphite electrode (Azure-B/PGE). The PGE and Azure-B/PGE have been characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy using 5 mM K3[Fe(CN)6] in 0.1 M KCl and Rct values were found to be 190 and 1.2 kΩ respectively. The effects of scan rate, pH, concentration and interfering substances were studied. The 1.2 μM LOD of LVF has been obtained in the linear range 2-125 µM. This scheme could be successfully used to determine the concentration of LVF in biological fluids and pharmaceutical samples.
