Abstract
Axially chiral bis(arylthiourea)-based organocatalyst 6b, prepared from (R)-(+)-5,5′,6,6′,7,7′,8,8′-octahydro-1,1′-binaphthyl-2,2′-diamine, was found to be an effective chiral organocatalyst for the enantioselective Henry reaction of arylaldehydes with nitromethane to give the corresponding adducts in moderate enantioselectivities and good yields.
