Abstract

Communication aid helps people with disability to communicate with the individuals around them. This paper presents design and development of an assistive user interface application for patients having communication disability like Stroke, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Our application is integrated with low-cost Tobii EyeX eye tracker. The eye tracker tracks the user's eye gaze pattern and initiates interaction with the system. Our assistive application contains sub-modules that will help patients to communicate with others. Experimentation has been done on application with eye tracker and camera mouse by several patients and healthy subjects to evaluate the performance.
