Abstract

Occupational therapists are well established in Haringey's homes for elderly people and have often been called upon to share their knowledge and experience with other boroughs. The increase in the numbers of elderly people and the corresponding increased attention given to standards of care in old people's homes means that more occupational therapists are being employed in this area. This article outlines the development of the service and the current areas of occupational therapy involvement.
