Abstract

The unique criteria and constraints of automotive regulations necessitates the implementation of a specific Automotive Regulatory Requirements Management System to prove and maintain compliance to governmental and approval agencies both in the arenas of safety regulation and environmental regulation. This paper describes the processes involved in the development of an Automotive Regulatory Requirements Management System using ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 (Systems and software engineering — Life cycle processes — Requirements engineering) as a foundational text for the development of an Automotive Regulatory Requirements Management System to track and demonstrate compliance to all applicable automotive regulatory requirements.
