Abstract

In general use of an automatic sphygmomanometer is essential to generate small and stable pressure during the rapid pressure expansion of the bladder cuff. The pressure generated by the sphygmomanometer simulator should simulate human blood pressure such as simulation for infant, neonatal and adult human or blood pressure conditions normal, hypertension, and hypotension. The simulator pressure system consists of three combinations of pressure generation, a dc motor for rough pressure generation, a small air cylinder for maintaining pressure stabilization, and brass bellows for simulation of small changes in volume or pressure. For air cylinder and brass bellows, two linear stages equipped with ball screew and the stepper motor are used to obtain a small change of linear displacement. The result for the simulator system contains these three combinations of pressure generation comply with the accuracy-test less than 3 mmHg and repeatable tests of less than 1 mmHg for automatic sphygmomanometer simulator based on ISO 81060-5:2020.
