Abstract

In this paper, we report an extension of the Space-time Conservation Element-Solution Element (CE/SE) framework to model viscous flow problems. The formulation and boundary conditions (stationary and moving wall boundaries in particular) are presented and discussed. The capability of the developed solver to solve both compressible and laminar viscous flows is demonstrated through simulation of 2-D problems, such as laminar flow over a flat plate, driven cavity, and external flow over a circular cylinder. The numerical results and their comparison with analytical results and experimental results are presented. Possible future extensions of the model are also discussed.
