Abstract
Tractor selection is a major decision facing an agricultural machinery manager. The suitability of a tractor model for the fami situation must be evaluated on the basis of its performance. Tractor testing provides information about the performance of a tractor. Tractor performance is affected by working environment, therefore tests must be performed locally. A tractor test stand was developed using an old tractor chasis and an eddy-current brake dynamometer. The test stand was calibrated with the help of a pto torque transducer. Test data was recorded using a computerized data acquisition system since proper evaluation of the data is extremely important for tractor selection.
