Abstract

The design and projected performance of a Bonse-Hart, ultra-high-resolution, small-angle neutron-scattering (USANS) diffractometer of the type that is being developed at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is described. The instrument is projected to have a minimum Q-value of ⩽ 0.001 nm −1 with a beam current at the sample in excess of 10 5 n/s.
