Abstract

Methyl tertiary butyl ether is an oxygen-containing octane-increasing component used to increase the octane number of gasoline. The use of MTBE is very important in the modern world, since it improves not only the parameters of detonation resistance, but also reduces the content of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons in the exhaust gases, which positively affects the environment. The article describes the technology of the synthesis of methyl tertiary butyl ether, gives a functional diagram of the process, the parameters involved in the production process, their control limits, which correspond to the manufacturer’s regulations, a mnemonic diagram, the dependence of the parameters on each other in the form of formulas, in addition, the process of creating a control program and developing a process control system is shown. The main objectives of the development of a methyl tertiary butyl ether synthesis process control system are the control and regulation of process parameters, as well as the search for the optimal use of resources and materials to increase the yield of finished products. The SCADA system was developed based on the actual limits of parameter control during the technological process. The expediency of using a SCADA-system is substantiated.
