Abstract
To develop a simple but realistic surrogate urethra that can be utilized for improved prediction of urethral dose during real-time HDR prostate brachytherapy (HDR-PB). The cross-sectional shape of the prostatic urethra was mapped in detail throughout the length of the prostate and used to create a clinically useful surrogate urethra cross-section that can be positioned using the visualized Foley catheter in real-time planning.
