Abstract
Matrix-based, streamlined, life cycle tools hold promise for facilitating decision making in in companies and providing interpretive structure. However, these tools, originally developed at AT&T and generically available in the literature, need to be modified to meet different companies' needs. The authors describe how Boeing Defense & Space Group created a unique matrix that mixed both manufacturing process with product analysis. The paper also describes several modification challenges including valuation, question syntax and wording.
