Abstract
Business and production networks and co-operation between enterprises are important consepts in the early 90's. What are. the preconditions and required development processes for introducing production networks having international competivness. specialization and capability to use technology effectively? This project developes and verifies a process that creates a strategically flexible and Competitive production network for small and medium sized metal industries in Western Finland. Special attention has been paid to creating the preconditions for the effective utilization of the key competences of the enterprises. The first results are now available.
