Abstract
Wing fairings for variable sweep aircraft present difficult aerodynamic and design problems. The B-l variable sweep wing fairing panels were designed to be preloaded upon installation such that contact between the panel edges and the wing surface is maintained for all wing sweep angles and aerodynamic load conditions.
