Abstract

The pilot-in-loop real-time simulation platform has been designed to address the challenges associated with the wind tunnel free-flight test. In this paper, the free-flight test facility is briefly described, with an emphasis on the design, development and verification of the simulation platform. And a detailed description of its hardware and software architecture, subsystem design and implementation and flight simulation procedure is given. Finally, the paper makes a comparison study between the simulation results and wind tunnel free-flight test results, verify its' succeed in overcoming the challenges of experimental design, pilots training and test results assessment for the free-flight test, Thus made a significant contribution to the success of the first free-flight test in the tunnel and enormously promoted the application of the flight test technique.
