Abstract

The article deals with the estimation of passenger's transportation process amount and level of service. The relevance of this topic is determined by the fact that urban passenger transport plays an important role for the population of cities in Russia and in the world. The administrations of large cities and mega polices consider this type of transport as the main tool for improving the difficult transport situation daily appearing in the sections of the road network. These problems can be solved successfully if the population begins to use urban passenger transport more and use personal vehicles less. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to significantly improve the quality of service provided by urban passenger transport, based on the use of automated control systems for urban passenger transport, which, first, should ensure the regularity of the movement of public transport vehicles and, secondly, provide comfortable conditions for passenger transportation. A particular influence on the quality of passenger service in urban passenger transport is the reliability of the transportation process, which is directly related to the regularity of traffic, and the comfort of transportation, which is estimated by the degree of vehicle interior occupation. The passenger transport management system should receive information about the degree of passenger vehicle interior occupation in order to be able to regulate the transportation process on-line and not allow the passenger compartment to be overflowed. For this purpose, a special phase space model of the transportation process states is suggested. Two dimensions coordinate system enables to represent transportation process at any time for any route of public transport. Moreover, the phase space is divided into subspaces each of them corresponds to a certain level of service. The developed methodology allows you to estimate the amount of transport work, taking into account the level of service provided on each part of the urban transport route.
