Abstract

Abstract This paper describes a new type of open tubular capillary liquid chromatography (OTCLC) which utilizes the microheterogenities and preferential solvation phenomena in organic-water mixed solvents. Several model compounds have been separated by the proposed OTCLC system, and it has been confirmed the separation occurs due to the micro-phase separation of the mobile phase enhanced by salts. The well-known Golay equations were applied to characterize and optimize the OTCLC system.
