Abstract
Laser sintering of polymers gets more and more importance for small series production. However, available materials do not always fulfil requirements of the intended applications. New developments on the market should close this gap. However, some of these new materials are difficult to process or do not have expected properties. Aim of the presented study was to develop a polybutylene terephthalate material for laser sintering process. Material properties, processing conditions as well as part properties of the different experimental grades are investigated. Fundamental knowledge on the processing of this new material type in laser sintering is established.
