Abstract

Novel configuration of the Faraday rotation isolator employing longitudinally-magnetized ferrite coupled line (FCL) is realized by connecting two lines with a resistor at the end of the ferrite section. The scattering parameters of this microstrip structure obtained through circuit and normal mode analysis are providing information for practical design of the isolator. The nonreciprocal behavior of the isolator and its dependence on resistor parameters are reported.
