Abstract

The adaptation of the Spanish university system to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) demands a methodological transformation. The classical Spanish system has to move away from teacher-focused methodology towards student-focused learning, in which students adopt an active role in their education, making emphasis on hands-on experiences. In order to meet the EHEA guidelines, an educational innovation project has been started in the Master in Electronic Engineering offered at the University of Zaragoza. The aim of this project is to reinforce the coordination and collaboration between the Master subjects by means of a multidisciplinary practical work based on a real system. The educational innovation project proposes a hands-on test bench based in a domestic induction heating cooker, which can be implemented in modular form. Each course focuses on the design of a specific part of the whole system, taking into account that in a final project, all the modules have to operate together to implement the complete system.
