Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to analyse the factors affecting radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Mazandaran Province in Iran. To this end, the effect of the variables of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, security, credibility, risk, relative advantage, organisational readiness, as well as cost and attitudes toward use, on the intention of the use of this technology is examined. This study is a descriptive-survey. The participants of the study are managers and production experts of SMEs of Mazandaran Province who are experienced in using the RFID technology or are likely to deal with this technology in the future. Finally, 243 experts were chosen randomly to respond to the questionnaire. In this study, structural equation modelling (SEM) is used for analysing data and testing the hypotheses. The results of the study show that the model which was applied is a strong theoretical model for predicting the RFID technology acceptance.
