Abstract

Background: Food hygiene and sanitation principles are a form of effort to prevent human disease. This service partner is "Healthy and Cheerful Baby Porridge," which has contributed a lot to preventing stunting as MPASI. The aim of this Community Empowerment (PMP) service is to innovate porridge packaging from plastic cups to autoclavable pouches so that the porridge is more durable and long-lasting and to apply mini autoclave-based technology when the porridge is packaged to make it more hygienic and sterile against pathogens. Method: Implementation of the PMP begins with an initial survey and partner cooperation agreement with the cooperation partners using the Focus group discussion (FGD) method. Socialization of materials and training at the Auditorium and Microbiology Laboratory at Al-Irsyad University, Cilacap. Evaluation of the implementation and sustainability of PMP activities. Results: Material dissemination and training on packaging cheerful porridge using autoclavable pouch technology was carried out. As many as 30% agreed, and 70% chose to strongly agree regarding the assessment of the new packaging and leaflet for cheerful porridge. Conclusion: Packaging the porridge with an autoclavable pouch makes the porridge more hygienic, sterile, and long-lasting.
