Abstract

Objective: Increased vascular resistance during myometrial contractions could theoretically induce transient ischemia and menstrual cramping pain. However, diagnostic tests have not yet been developed to evaluate vascular contributions to cramping pain in dysmenorrhea. This pilot study used a novel method to examine changes in uterine artery resistance during self-reported cramping.
