Abstract

It is important to predict the traffic vibrations generated by viaducts and to consider countermeasures against environmental vibration problems that are transmitted to surrounding houses. However, it is difficult to predict the vibration propagating from viaducts owing to various parameters, such as the structural type of bridge, ground conditions, road surface conditions, and traffic load conditions (running speed, running position, vehicle weight, traffic volume, etc.). Therefore, in this study, vibration tests were conducted on an actual viaduct, detailed bridge and vehicle models were developed that can reproduce the vibration phenomena on an actual bridge, and a method was developed to predict traffic vibration propagated from the viaduct using vehicle running simulations.
