Abstract

The relationship identification between the animal’s body type and genotypic and phenotypic features will allow a comprehensive of animals assessment by breeding value and production type, their health and prospects for use to formulate. In this regard, an important component of a comprehensive assessment is the exterior’s indicators of animal’s determination. Currently, contact and contactless methods of animal’s measurements determining in animal science are used. However, analyzed methods at practical application have disadvantages. A new approach to exterior assessment is presented. The exterior’s parameters by animal images’ processing with photographing and depth sensor using were determined. The body’s main measurements, such as height at the withers, chest depth, chest width, rump width, hip straight length, straight length of the body, pastern’s circumference, rump length, back’s depth in the lower, pine bone width, were measured in industrial conditions. They were with 1 mm and an error close to 2% of accuracy determined. On the basis of animal obtained measurements, formulas for body type’s index calculating were developed, that make it possible the animal’s exterior-and-constitutional type to identify. Given the high degree of correlation between exterior parameters and milk production, exterior parameters and live weight, the calculated body type’s indexes are the basis for cows’ milk and meat production predicting.
