Abstract

A highly sensitive reversed-phase liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry for the quantification of myricitrin in rat plasma was developed and validated using orientin as an internal standard. The detection was achieved on a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer using selected reaction monitoring mode in the negative electrospray ionization source. Linearity was constructed over a concentration range of 2.0–1000 ng/ml for myricitrin. The sensitivity and accuracy of the method allowed determination of the pharmacokinetics of myricitrin in rats following intravenous administration in male rats. Graphical Abstract
