Abstract

Changing patterns in the supply of and demand for farm labor in the United States make it essential that farmers who have no experience with labor laws become familiar with a large number of changing regulations. In Virginia, the problem of educating farmers was tackled by the development and promotion of a computerized catalog of farm labor legislation using hypertext software. The purposes of this paper are to detail the steps toward creation of the program as well as the lessons learned, and to describe an application of hypertext technology to solve a problem of information transfer in agriculture.
