Abstract

A series of fluidized bed catalysts for the preparation of maleic anhydride (MA) from n-butane was prepared by encapsulation, embedding, or impregnation of the active and selective catalytic material. The catalysts were characterized by their fluidization and their catalytic properties. The optimization of the performance of fixed bed catalysts by statistical experimental design followed. Finally, the above-mentioned different methods of adjusting the material to a fluidized bed process were studied
