Abstract

We have constructed a test facility for the linear motor car mainly to examine its propulsion characteristics. The 3.3 ton vehicle has a 2 ton propulsion force and can be accelerated to 165 Km/h in 200 m. In this paper, our investigation of the field-magnet and armature coils on the ground is reported. We discuss the correspondence of our theoretical analysis with the results of experiments. We believe that the results of our investigation can be readily applied to an actural DCLM line.
