Abstract

In this paper, dynamic modelling with Markov chains represents a basement for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gas turbines and their automatic controllers. On-line monitoring is performed simultaneously with the operation of the automatic control system; therefore possible interference of these processes is to be taken into account. In order to provide rigorous experimental validation of the monitoring technique, a system test facility incorporates faults models along with modelling of normal operation of the power plant. This is realised using rapid application development techniques.
