Abstract

Urban roadways, vehicles and traffic light controls are public services most complex system and many countries use a specific simulation software to calculate the statistics of their traffic system. In our country, Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar Traffic Control Center (UBTCC) uses simulation software which is developed in Germany, Traffic Control software which is developed in South Korean and the Loop Detection device which is located under the roads in order to count the vehicles. In this paper we are calculating some important statistics such as traffic density, traffic intensity, capacity, traffic average speeds, queue length and waiting time for each vehicle without any specific computer simulation software. In order to do it we have developed a computer model based on the data of UBTCC and simulated it. This research result will be used to develop Smart Traffic Control system in Ulaanbaatar city, Mongolia.
