Abstract
Two new oil-producing areas, two new gas-distillate areas, and oil production in two old gas fields were discovered in East Texas during 1938. Areal extensions were added to two fields. Many of the important exploratory tests were directed to the Paluxy, lower Glen Rose, and Travis Peak formations (Lower Cretaceous). Some of these tests were located on proved structural features previously condemned in shallower formations, and others were located in proved fields. Several of the deeper tests penetrated zones which added materially to the knowledge of the Trinity and pre-Trinity (?) stratigraphy of the East Texas basin.
