Abstract

The publication presents the results of study of the effect of a new microbial feed additive on the body of the Caucasian and Romanian pheasants. The microbial supplement is a composition of three autochthonous beneficial strains (Lactobacillus coryniformis, Lactobacillus johnsonii, Lactobacillus reuteri) grown in a molasses-autolysate medium, isolated and identified by modern molecular genetic and microbiological methods from the gastrointestinal tract of the blind processes of domesticated pheasants and deposited in the NCBI database under the numbers, respectively, KGAU_PH-1, SAMN28099307; KGAU_PH-2, SAMN28100724 and KGAU_PH-3, SAMN28100809. When using a microbial feed additive in the diet of pheasants, it was found that the probiotic has a positive effect on the metabolic processes of the bird's body, increases protein metabolism, mineral metabolism. The use of a microbial additive contributes, depending on the type of bird, to an increase in the live weight of pheasants by 5.9-6.5 %, as well as an increase by 6.0-6.7 %, increases the safety of livestock by 8.6 %, while reducing conversion of feed by 5.4 %. In general, the studied microbial feed additive is safe, effective and promising for the poultry industry.
