Abstract

<p id="p00005"><strong>Objective:</strong> To develop a competency evaluation questionnaire for specialized anesthesia nurses and test its reliability and validity. <p id="p00010"><strong>Methods:</strong> Based on the post competency model, the preliminary questionnaire was drawn up through literature analysis, group discussion and Delphi method. 210 nurses who had obtained nurse qualification certificates in anesthesiology department were selected by convenience sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. <p id="p00015"><strong>Results:</strong> There were 38 items in the final questionnaire, including 5 dimensions of professional knowledge, professional technology, professional ability, management ability and personal characteristics. Exploratory factor analysis identified five principal factors, which explained 69.853% of total variance. The scale-level content validity index was 0.869, and the item-level content validity index ranged from 0.855 to 1.000. Cronbach's α coefficients was 0.898, test- retest reliability was 0.867, split half reliability was 0.923. <p id="p00020"><strong>Conclusion:</strong> The good reliability of questionnaire made it possible to evaluate post competency of specialized anesthesia nurses.
