Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and search of physical activity continuity measurement scale(PACMS) for Korean elderly women using Rasch rating scale model. Based on the literature review and consultation of content and measurement experts, the 40-item and 4-rating category PACMS was generated. The scale was administered to 400 Korean elderly women. Rasch measurement computer program, WINSTEPS 3.65 was used to analyze the data. Model data fit was determined by Infit and Outfit statistics(≥0.80 and ≤1.20). All alpha level was set at 0.05. 24-item of the 40 items had good model-data fit with acceptable fit statistics. The 16-item was eliminated. Overall, the 4-rating category functioned well, threshold advanced with category. Analyzing of differential item function(DIF) showed that 9-item was not paired(item bias) between the age category(≥75 and 75). The PACMS was searched unidimemsionality by unexplained variance in 1st contrast threshold(3.0) from Rasch PCA(principal component analysis), and showed stability through persons-items map. Finally, the 15-item and 4-rating category PACMS for Korean elderly women was developed in this study.
