Abstract

Asthma is the most prevalent chronic respiratory disease, affecting more than 300 million people worldwide1 . Although asthma is a heterogenous disease that presents with various phenotypes, around 50 % of the patients suffer from type 2 inflammation, characterized by elevated levels of IgE, type 2 cytokines such as IL-4 and IL-13 and eosinophilia1 .
