Abstract
Singapore is a popular tourism destination. Its international visitor arrivals (IVA) and tourism receipts (TR) have achieved record highs in the past 3 years. The objectives of this chapter are to describe the development of Singapore’s hotel industry and air transport industry and summarize innovations in those two industries. Two case studies such as Open Hotels Weekend and Hotel Innovation Challenge Series have been used to explain government inspired innovations in Singapore’s hotel industry; while Changi Airport’s many innovations and initiatives were cited to justify why Singapore ranks very high on many top city lists.
