Abstract

Inaccuracy as well as inefficiency has always been the issue in completing the various school forms based on the focus grouped discussion. To address this issue, the Excel-based Automated School forms Manager Senior High School Edition was developed and evaluated. Employing quantitative and qualitative research designs, the innovation was evaluated by 20 senior high school teacher-participants which were purposively chosen. Using an adopted instrument, results revealed that validity, flexibility, efficiency, user-friendliness, reliability, security, and accuracy had a mean rating of 4.43, 4.42, 4.34, 4.33, 4.33, 4.25, and 4.20 respectively. These results suggest that the participants find the ASM Senior High Edition as an acceptable innovation. Qualitative analysis revealed some issues about the innovation; one of the participants noted that there could be an issue regarding the accuracy of the information. The data encoded in the master sheet was transferred in another pertinent document without any discrepancies. Hence, accuracy of the innovation is not an issue. In conclusion, an Excel-based workbook is successfully developed and evaluated. The evaluation revealed that the ASM is a valid, flexible, efficient, user-friendly, reliable, secure, and accurate system. It is recommended to evaluate it with bigger participants and develop an ASM for elementary and junior high school.
