Abstract
This paper presents a water management platform by integrating the software on water resources, raw water transmission, treatment plants and distribution networks in the SOA framework. With an example of software development of early warning system for drinking water security, the paper illustrates the distributed system composed by reusable component of data, modeling and application as services. The paper also presents a model of expert system with the knowledgebase reasoning method, optimal computation for selecting the water treatment process in emergency response and process upgrade. A real engineering example in Dongguan, China is given out on water treatment processing adjustment based on seasonal or sudden raw water pollution events. The research is based on the national science and technology significant water special project of China, Pearl River downstream area drinking water safety control technology integration and synthesis demonstration.
