Abstract

It is shown that the process of the formation of the structure and mechanical properties of plates products is determined by the change of the temperature of the roll through the stages of the production process in the line of a reversing plate mill. An analytical temperature model is developed, that allows to estimate the distribution of surface and average mass temperature along the length and width of the roll for various stages of rolling with intermediate cooling, considering the deformation conditions for each pass. The temperature model is tested; as result, the proposed model can be used to calculate the distribution of the average mass temperature along the length and width of the roll at various stages of the production of plates on reversing mills.
