Abstract

The article examines the development of the adult and children's library collection for Native American studies. The discussion of Native American studies includes a review of the types of literature that should be in the library acquisitions, a list of criteria for evaluating Native American literature, a discussion of examples of literature that meet the criteria, and a review of issues that concern the development of the collection. The library collection discussed meets the needs of students, scholars doing research in Native Arnerican studies, and general readers who are interested in the subject.
