Abstract

This article presents three examples of group treatment in which written prescriptions enhance the elaboration of group stages and group differentiation by: (1) defining a group theme and maintaining coherence of content in successive sessions, as applied to treatment of adult incest survivors; (2) identifying and magnifying indicators of pro ression from stage to stage, as applied to treatment of bulimia; and 83) unveiling and highlighting the cores issues of each group stage, as applied to treatment of sexually taebnu sperde sacdroipletisocnesn tiss . dFeosrc reiabcehd o, fa lthoensge wexitahm t !ele us,s eth oef ctrweaot isounp opfo wrtrinitgtechniques, transcripts and in-group assignments. In each example, writing reinforces the change process by increasing the potency of group process.
