Abstract
AbstractThe development process of astronomy in Cuba is analysed from the point of view of a person actually working in astrophysics. It is concluded that the key word for astronomy development is “engagement” between a mature partner and the new developing group. It can not be forgotten that only astronomers do astronomy and that should be the main goal: to develop people working in astronomy.
